About The Position

The Department of Radiology & Biomedical Imaging is a large department within the UCSF School of Medicine, focused on research (basic and clinical), teaching, patient care, and public service. Its major activities encompass general Radiology, Mammography, Interventional Radiology, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and Nuclear Medicine. The department comprises 32 sections and research units, with 150 full-time faculty, 285 staff, and 160 trainees across six sites. Many faculty members conduct research, managing substantial teams including students, fellows, post-docs, and staff research associates, engaging in wet lab, dry lab, or clinical research. The Research Project Manager provides crucial support for research industry partnerships within the Department of Radiology. These partnerships involve cross-functional, large-scale projects that extend across multiple UCSF departments and UCSF Health. The ideal candidate will be a demonstrated leader with strong project management capabilities, experience in diverse clinical trials, and a track record of delivering results under demanding deadlines. The role involves strategic planning to achieve program objectives, ensuring all reporting and study milestones are met, including data entry schedules, budget adherence, and sponsor requirements. Collaboration with Principal Investigators and scientific oversight committees is essential to meet project goals. Previous experience working with senior leadership and research staff is advantageous.
