About The Position

Performs nuclear medicine procedures at a technical level requiring limited or no supervision of technical detail, using existing standards as a guide. Uses independent judgment to complete routine examinations and procedures. May assume responsibility for designated areas or procedures in conjunction with a Nuclear Medicine Tech III, or in the absence of a supervisor, and may be assigned to fill a station in other department areas. Ensures compliance with NRC, state, JCAHO, ODH, DOT, and other regulatory requirements through ongoing review of required documentation and system analysis. Prioritizes patients and delivers the utmost quality as a technologist.

Requirements

• High school graduation.
• Completion of a formal Radiologic Technology training program at an A.M.A.-approved school specializing in Nuclear Medicine Technology.
• Must be registered or present evidence of registry with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists as RT-N or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board as CNMT.
• Must possess a current Ohio license within the area of assignment.
• BLS provider certification, or obtain it within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties pertinent to Radiology/Nuclear Medicine, including completing appropriate patient testing procedures.
• Demonstrates proficiency in Hot Lab procedures and equipment operation, including CT and laser localization systems.
• Completes clinical diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Provides protection from radiation exposure.
• Transcribes and implements orders and administers medication.
• Assumes responsibility for the division in the absence of the administrative technologist.
