Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years of current work experience in Nuclear Medicine and PT/CT.
  • Hold a current and valid ARRT (N) certification and/or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist certification.
  • Demonstrated experience starting Intravenous (IV), radiopharmaceutical injections, and contrast injections.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • Picture Achieving & Communication Systems (PACS) work experience.

Nice To Haves

  • IV certification is preferred but not required.
  • AGFA PACS experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Independently operate Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT scanner equipment to perform variety of complex NM and PET/CT imaging exams and follow strict NM safety practices established by national standards.
  • Receive patients, explain method of procedure(s), position patients, select and set technical parameters, set up and adjust accessory equipment for imaging.
  • Operate computerized NM and PET/CT camera imaging systems and other specialized equipment.
  • Perform clinical diagnostic examinations and procedures utilizing calibrated radio tracers and radiopharmaceuticals, i.e., PET and PET/CT, general and cardiac studies producing high quality nuclear medicine static, dynamic, and Single Photon Emission Computerized Tomography (SPECT).
  • Perform complex clinical diagnostic laboratory examination.
  • Set up NM and PET/CT suite assuring that sterile supplies, radiopharmaceutical or radio tracers are calibrated properly, catheters, and other required equipment and supplies are present and available.
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceutical or radio tracers and contrast material intravenously under close supervision of radiologist(s), but not independently as required.
  • Perform related clerical duties such as sending images to the Picture Archiving and Communication System, archiving images, post processing images, and case editing of computer requests and reports.
  • Maintain records and enter patient information using the Radiology Vista Package, and the Computerized Patient Record System.
