About The Position

The Nuclear Med Tech plays a crucial role in the healthcare team by performing diagnostic imaging procedures using radioactive materials. Requirements

  • Graduate Nuclear Medicine program
  • Current certification with Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or certification eligible post-graduation from a Nuclear Medicine Program. If registry eligible, must complete the certification with a passing grade within one month following hire date.
  • BLS and ACLS certification required.
  • Strong understanding of nuclear medicine principles and the ability to operate complex imaging equipment.
  • Attention to detail is crucial, as the Nuclear Med Tech must ensure accurate preparation and administration of radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Excellent communication skills are necessary to effectively educate patients and collaborate with healthcare professionals.
  • Problem-solving skills are also important for troubleshooting equipment issues and addressing patient concerns.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or a related field.
  • Experience in a clinical setting, particularly in a radiology department.

Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians during exams along with obtaining nuclear images for interpretation.
  • Maintaining high quality of professionalism in dealing with patients.
  • Perform nuclear medicine procedures, including SPECT scans, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients, monitoring their reactions and providing necessary care.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment, ensuring it is functioning correctly and safely.
  • Document and report imaging results accurately, collaborating with physicians to discuss findings.
  • Educate patients about procedures, addressing any concerns to ensure a positive experience.
