About The Position

San Ramon Regional Medical Center is seeking a Nuclear Med Tech to join their Radiology department. This full-time position involves preparing radioactive isotopes for patient administration, operating radioscopic equipment to measure isotope concentrations and create visual representations of isotope distribution in specific body areas. The role also includes ensuring adherence to hospital safety protocols, managing quality control and improvement activities within nuclear medicine, meeting and documenting regulatory requirements, producing reports for hospital and regulatory agencies, maintaining nuclear medicine equipment, and notifying the Department Director of potential capital expenditures. The position also requires performing other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Certification as a Radiologic Technology by the State of California.
  • Certification as Nuclear Medicine Technician by the State of California.
  • Healthcare Provider BLS certification.
  • 2 – 3 years of experience.
  • Analytical and grammatical skills necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
  • Radioscopic equipment, scintillation detectors and scanners.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing radioactive isotopes for administration to patients.

  • Ensuring all hospital mandated safety precautions are followed.
  • Being accountable for all quality control and quality improvement activities within nuclear medicine.
  • Ensuring that all regulatory requirements are met and documented.
  • Producing appropriate reports for hospital and regulatory agencies.
  • Ensuring nuclear medicine equipment is kept in good repair.
  • Notifying Department Director of need for capital expenditures.
  • Performing other duties as required.
