About The Position

National Jewish Health is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine PET/CT Technologist to perform advanced PET/CT, general nuclear medicine and cardiac nuclear medicine procedures in a patient-focused outpatient environment. This role offers the opportunity to work with leading imaging technology while supporting the diagnosis and care of patients with complex conditions. Flexible scheduling options may include a traditional Monday through Friday schedule or four 10-hour shifts per week. The Nuclear Medicine PET/CT Technologist plays an important role in delivering advanced diagnostic imaging services as part of a collaborative team dedicated to quality, safety and exceptional patient care. Performs quality diagnostic general and cardiac nuclear medicine and PET/CT procedures in accordance with standards set by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB). This position works within the interdisciplinary team to provide safe and personalized care for patients.

Requirements

Successful completion of an approved Nuclear Medicine program required.
Current R.T. (NM) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and/or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) required.
Current CPR/BLS Healthcare Provider certification required.
If the ARRT certification was obtained prior to 2000 under special eligibility provision, graduation from an accredited program is not required.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
One (1) year of experience working in general and cardiac nuclear medicine preferred.
One (1) year of PET/CT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Performs PET/CT, general nuclear medicine and cardiac nuclear medicine procedures
Administers radiopharmaceuticals and IV injections in accordance with established protocols
Performs image processing to support accurate diagnosis
Maintains radiation safety standards and regulatory compliance
Utilizes EMR, RIS and PACS systems to support efficient patient care
Performs high quality PET/CT scan procedures to support accurate diagnosis while maintaining high quality patient care.
Performs IV injections for all nuclear medicine and PET/CT scan procedures.
Performs high quality general nuclear medicine procedures to support accurate diagnosis.
Performs high quality cardiac nuclear medicine procedures to support accurate diagnosis.
Follows all radiation safety practices and protocols for all nuclear medicine and PET/CT procedures.
Orders, prepares, administers, stores and disposes of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols and applicable regulations/standards for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
Post processes all nuclear medicine and PET/CT procedures to support accurate diagnosis.
Uses hospital information systems proficiently including EMR, scheduling, RIS and PACS software applications.
Performs as back-up to staff absences and vacancies, as necessary.
