About The Position

Performs quality diagnostic general and cardiac nuclear medicine and PET/CT procedures in accordance with standards set by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB). This position works within the interdisciplinary team to provide safe and personalized care for patients.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of an approved Nuclear Medicine program required.
  • Current R.T. (NM) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and/or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) required.
  • Current CPR/BLS Healthcare Provider certification required.
  • If the ARRT certification was obtained prior to 2000 under special eligibility provision, graduation from an accredited program is not required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • One (1) year of experience working in general and cardiac nuclear medicine preferred.
  • One (1) year of PET/CT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs high quality PET/CT scan procedures to support accurate diagnosis while maintaining high quality patient care.
  • Performs IV injections for all nuclear medicine and PET/CT scan procedures.
  • Performs high quality general nuclear medicine procedures to support accurate diagnosis.
  • Performs high quality cardiac nuclear medicine procedures to support accurate diagnosis.
  • Follows all radiation safety practices and protocols for all nuclear medicine and PET/CT procedures.
  • Orders, prepares, administers, stores and disposes of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols and applicable regulations/standards for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
  • Post processes all nuclear medicine and PET/CT procedures to support accurate diagnosis.
  • Uses hospital information systems proficiently including EMR, scheduling, RIS and PACS software applications.
  • Performs as back-up to staff absences and vacancies, as necessary.
