About The Position

Supervises, assigns, coordinates, and evaluates semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel based on their skill, experience, and job knowledge. This role involves supervising and training employees to enhance the quality and quantity of work performed, recommending training to improve employee skills and productivity, and assisting in the development of training procedures. The Foreman is responsible for breaking down broad strategies into practical action plans and ensuring employees are trained to execute these plans. This includes ensuring compliance with all technical aspects of the job, such as adherence to drawings and procedures. The role is responsible for manufacturing, installation, operation, testing, and process operations that have a significant financial impact on the company's performance. The Foreman will supervise qualified trades staff and monitor job and budget performance across all shifts. Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus to new Foreman hires.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree OR Apprentice Certification OR High School and 4 years combined manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, military experience OR Associate Degree in a Trade/Technical and 3 years of relevant manufacturing, shipbuilding, trade and/or military experience
  • US Citizenship Required
