Strata-G is seeking an experienced Nuclear Facility, Regulatory and /or Operations Specialist with the following: Nuclear Regulatory and Licensing expert needed to support various nuclear programs and projects in support of NRC licensed reactor, nuclear fuels, or other licensed facilities/operations. Work scope also includes supporting customers with licensing and permitting tasks such as early site permitting tasks. Ideal candidates have direct licensing experience with the NRC, or Agreement State programs, including supporting nuclear safety basis analysis, environmental impacts, hazard analysis, waste management, storage, transportation, emergency planning, construction, nuclear material, and operational permitting. Familiarity with NQA-1 and 10CFR Part 50/51/52/53/70/71/72 and related State or Federal regulations also required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a closely related scientific field.
  • 10+ years’ experience preferred with practical background in nuclear power plant operations, commercial nuclear systems, or the U.S. Nuclear Navy.
  • Strong analytical thinking, excellent technical writing capabilities, and the professional stamina to operate objectively under strict regulatory environments.
  • Ability to wear protective gear, access high-consequence containment areas, and work a flexible schedule to monitor cross-shift plant activities.
  • Ability to obtain a Q clearance if needed.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Examine nuclear plant equipment, monitor control room operations, and review technical records to ensure adherence to NRC regulations.
  • Perform risk-informed inspection activities to identify and prioritize potential safety or engineering vulnerabilities.
  • Respond to live plant issues and provide real-time, objective expertise to senior agency management.
  • Draft detailed quarterly reports summarizing inspection findings and regulatory violations for public transparency.
  • Lead regulatory meetings with plant executives and interface directly with local government officials or members of the public.
