About The Position

The Electrical/I&C Design and Projects Engineering Supervisor manages a mixed discipline group of Electrical and Instrumentation and Control (I&C) design and projects engineers. The projects end responsibilities involve providing direction, oversight and mentorship to in-house engineers as they oversee contract preparation of design modifications supporting project solutions to plant equipment concerns or upgrades. Support of projects involves the entire projects life-cycle from initial feasibility and conceptual design through field implementation and project closure. The design end responsibilities involve providing direction, oversight and mentorship to in-house engineers performing design changes, calculations, construction sketch development, program management and configuration management of the nuclear power plant design and licensing basis as required by 10CFR50 Appendix B. Additional job responsibilities are described below. Travel required 5% of time for Supervisors To obtain and maintain employment and unescorted access at DCPP, you must be able to pass a drug and alcohol screen, a security background check, psychological screen, computer-based training, and be subject to random drug and alcohol screening. PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role would land at or near the top half of the range described below, but the decision will be dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable salary range is:California Minimum: $147,000California Maximum: $252,000

Requirements

  • Bachelors in Engineering or scientific field generally associated with power plants or equivalent Nuclear Power Plant operational experience, such as licensed nuclear operator
  • 4 years of engineering or related experience such as on-shift or licensed Nuclear Power Plant operations experience

Responsibilities

  • Ensure group attends training and maintains qualifications.
  • Establish goals and performance evaluations. Create a development plan for individuals and monitor progress.
  • Manage and assign individual work assignments, schedule and priorities. Ensure schedules met.
  • Participate in work groups, initiatives and special projects.
  • Review SAP Notifications and Tasks, and assess performance and trend repots to address negative trends.
  • Supervises, develops, mentors, and coaches Bargaining Unit professional engineer staff.
  • Oversees implementation of Diablo Canyon's Environmental Qualification, Setpoint Control, Reg Guide 1.97 and Wireless Testing and Evaluation programs.
  • Perform expanded duties during refueling outages such as Outage Control Center support or backfilling other supervisors during days off.
  • Support Diablo Canyon's Emergency Response Organization.
