We are seeking a Nuclear Criticality Safety Engineer Energy, to join our Team in our Oak Ridge, TN office. Your role involves stopping work without fear of reprisal for unsafe conditions potentially affecting personnel safety or environmental risk. You will support the implementation of the Nuclear Criticality Safety (NCS) Program and facility activities to ensure criticality safety. This includes preparing and peer reviewing NCS documents such as Fissile Material Operations (FMO) Screens, NCS Evaluations (NCSEs), NCS Approvals (NCSAs), NCS Clarifications, NCS Reports, and Criticality Accident Alarm System Needs Analyses. You will also perform NCSE/A implementation walkdowns, provide input to site emergency plans and pre-incident plans, and maintain awareness of assigned FMOs and NCS-related issues within the Project. Additionally, you will participate in critiques/investigations involving NCS issues, review Conditions Adverse to Quality (e.g., Non-Conformance Reports, Findings) for NCS impacts, and perform audits, surveillances, and assessments of the NCS Program and Project conformance to NCSA and NCS-related contract requirements. You will review and approve work packages, procedures, administrative aids, and other Project documents to ensure compliance with NCS requirements, as well as review and approve designs and plans that potentially impact NCS. Reviewing applicable facility Safety Basis documents for NCS integration and participating in Hazard Evaluation Studies/Hazards Analysis in support of Project activities are also key responsibilities. You will identify the need for NCS training, provide delivery of NCS training and evaluate its effectiveness, and maintain knowledge of NCS-related standards, guides, and codes. Supporting the execution of Integrated Safety Management System guiding principles and core functions and the Isotek Safety Culture is expected. Other duties as assigned.
