About The Position

The Nuclear Cardiology Technologist CNMT performs high-quality cardiac nuclear MPI studies including gated SPECT imaging/processing using QGS/QPS/ECToolbox, nuclear stress testing, IV access proficiency & saline bubble study assistance. Responsible for patient preparation, image acquisition, preliminary reporting, and documentation, IV access proficiency in accordance with state regulatory practice protocols and accreditation standards. Ensures patient comfort and understanding, supports physician interpretation, and participates in lab quality assurance, state regulatory policies/procedures, and accreditation activities. Maintains professionalism, confidentiality, and compliance with HIPAA and regulatory guidelines.

Requirements

  • Current and active CNMT and/or ARRT-N and MRT-N licensure required.
  • Graduate of an accredited Certified Nuclear Medicine Technology program
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • CNMT and/or ARRT-N MRT-N
  • BLS certification required
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Effective time management and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to interpret clinical documents, protocols, and instructions
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with patients and staff
  • Proficiency with nuclear/gamma camera platforms, PACS systems, and EMR software
  • Basic word-processing skills

Responsibilities

  • Verifies patient identity and accuracy of demographic and clinical information
  • Greets and escorts patients to exam room; explain procedure and address questions
  • Applies ECG leads, starts IVs and prepares patient for testing
  • Performs diagnostic imaging studies including: Gated SPECT imaging rest/stress
  • Assists Echo tech with bubble studies
  • Enters accurate patient and technical data into acquisition station and EMR systems
  • Ensures high-quality images, processing nuclear images and performs preliminary measurements and interpretation support
  • Generates preliminary reports for physician review
  • Participates in ongoing quality assurance and accreditation efforts
  • Maintains equipment cleanliness and operational status
  • Assists with appropriate patient documentation as needed while maintaining HIPAA compliance
  • Notifies physician’s M.A. of any moderate/severe abnormal studies via email
  • Notifies physician of critically abnormal stress tests/ECG findings
  • Provides support for general clinic operations when required
  • Travels between Fort Worth & Weatherford offices as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned
