The New Product Introduction (NPI) Tooling Designer supports the design, development, and manufacturing of NPI durable tooling for aerospace manufacturing operations. Durable tooling includes machining fixtures, gauges, lifting devices, material handling equipment, and other production tooling used to support Module Centers & Operations (MC&O). This position operates within the durable tooling value stream and serves as a conduit between Manufacturing Engineering, internal stakeholders, Operational Excellence, OEM design services, tooling suppliers, and tooling OEMs. The NPI Durable Tooling Designer translates manufacturing requirements into practical, producible tooling solutions and supports tooling from initial concept and design through manufacturing, alteration, repair, and release. In this role, you will apply mechanical design, CAD, GD&T, machining, blueprint interpretation, manufacturing engineering, and project management skills to support new product introduction and production readiness. We’re looking for a self-directed team player who works with minimal oversight while collaborating across engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and operations.
