NPI Sourcing Buyer

Ezurio,
Remote

About The Position

With minimal supervision, the NPI Sourcing Buyer is responsible for procurement and sourcing activities that support Ezurio's new product introduction (NPI) programs. This includes issuing and managing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and expediting materials for prototype, pilot, and production-ramp builds. The role also sources new component solutions — including electronics, sheet metal, displays, cables, shielding, and PCBs — in close partnership with the Strategic Sourcing, Engineering, and Project Management teams to drive successful, on-time, on-cost new product launches. The NPI Sourcing Buyer also supports production-level buying activities as capacity allows. This position is remote within the U.S. Legal authorization to work in the US is required.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain, ideally supporting new product development or NPI programs.
  • Engineering background, technical degree, or equivalent hands-on experience strongly preferred, along with familiarity with electronics manufacturing in an OEM environment.
  • Working knowledge of electronic components, sheet metal, displays, cables, shielding, and PCBs, and their sourcing and manufacturing processes.
  • Hands-on experience with PLM or engineering document-management systems (Arena, Agile, Up Chain, or equivalent) for fabrication / Gerber / BOM retrieval and version control.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills; comfortable working closely with Engineering, Project Management, and Strategic Sourcing teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent NPI programs and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret BOMs, engineering drawings, and component specifications.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP/MRP systems (NetSuite preferred).
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions (P/D/C/A).
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and disciplined follow-up.

Nice To Haves

  • BS in Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) or new product development programs preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Issue, maintain, and expedite purchase orders for NPI materials, prototypes, and engineering builds; track deliveries and proactively resolve delays that put program milestones at risk.
  • Partner with Engineering and Project Management throughout the NPI lifecycle (concept, prototype, pilot, and production ramp) to ensure timely availability of materials and components.
  • Source new component solutions across commodities such as electronics, sheet metal, displays, cables, shielding, and PCBs; identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers for these solutions.
  • Collaborate with the Strategic Sourcing team to align new sourcing activity with category strategies, negotiated pricing, and preferred supplier agreements.
  • Work with Engineering to translate BOM and specification requirements into sourcing requirements, and support design-for-cost and design-for-supply-chain decisions during development.
  • Retrieve and manage fabrication, Gerber, and BOM data from the PLM system (Arena, Agile, Up Chain, or Equivalent) to support new-build sourcing and engineering change orders (ECOs).
  • Manage supplier communication, RFQs, samples, and lead-time commitments for new and existing NPI parts.
  • Track and report NPI procurement status, supply risks, and material readiness to Project Management and cross-functional program teams.
  • Support production-level buying and planning activities (purchase orders, supplier schedules, MRP action messages) as time and priorities allow.
  • Support MRO purchasing for manufacturing sites
  • Maintain accurate purchase order, pricing, and delivery data within the ERP/MRP system (NetSuite).
  • Monitor and resolve supply issues that could impact new product launch schedules; escalate risks early to Engineering, Project Management, and Strategic Sourcing.
  • Support cost-reduction, dual-sourcing, and supplier consolidation initiatives identified during NPI sourcing activity.
  • Adheres to Ezurio quality and safety systems / safety standards.
