About The Position

This role is responsible for the day-to-day functions of Logistics or Value Add department(s), ensuring goals are met or exceeded. The position supervises the day-to-day operation of a single department (receiving, storing, picking, shipping, special handling) within the distribution/value add center, consisting of non-exempt tactical personnel. With specific direction from management and HR, the role participates in staffing, terminations, disciplinary counseling, performance management, and development in conjunction with facility management. Typically, complex issues will need to be elevated. The role involves reporting and tracking department metrics, responding to internal customer inquiries, and may need to elevate or work in conjunction with facility management to resolve complex issues. This position solves complex problems by taking a new perspective using existing solutions and resolves complex problems or problems where precedent may not exist. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a 4-year degree; or 6-years and an advanced degree; or equivalent experience.
  • Engineering or technical degree.
  • Experience with NPI projects.
  • Works independently; receives minimal guidance.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
  • Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products/services or processes.
  • Often leads the work of project teams; may formally train junior staff.
  • Works and helps lead engineers.
  • Understands engineering processes.
  • Understands business processes.
