About The Position

The Pivot Group Network is building a network of NPI Engineer candidates for manufacturing companies in and around Alpena, Michigan, including Ossineke, Hillman, Rogers City, and Lincoln. Partner companies may not have an immediate opening, but the Network may contact candidates when a current or future opportunity aligns with their goals. The role involves leading new product introduction projects from prototype through production launch, coordinating pilot and validation builds, and supporting the transition to volume production. The listed salary range is $78,000–$118,000, depending on experience. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship.

Requirements

• Ability to read drawings, specifications, and bills of material.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills across teams.
• Hands-on experience with production equipment and assembly processes.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• Experience supporting new product introduction or manufacturing launches.
• Working knowledge of process validation and root cause tools.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

• Project management experience or certification.
• Experience with CAD software and fixture design.
• Background in high-volume or precision manufacturing.
• Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methods.
• Familiarity with quality systems in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead new product introduction projects from prototype through production launch.
• Coordinate builds and track issues through pilot and validation runs.
• Create and maintain manufacturing process documentation and work instructions.
• Work with design and quality teams to resolve production problems.
• Develop process flows, fixtures, and tooling for new assemblies.
• Conduct root cause analysis on defects identified during ramp-up.
• Support production teams during first builds and handoff to volume production.
• Report project status, risks, and readiness to management.
