In NPI we: - Play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our projects by managing the sourcing process and coordinating with our suppliers, maximizing supplier involvement in concurrent engineering. - Showcase our negotiation skills and strategic thinking by driving the negotiations to closure. - Play a key role within Integrated Project Teams where we are entrusted with the initial procurement and industrialization of assigned components. The position is based at our Longueuil location, from Monday to Friday, with flexible hours and exclusively on-site.

Requirements

  • BAC and 10 years of experience OR Master's degree and 7 years of experience
  • Strong understanding of business principles, including finance, marketing, and strategy to analyze cost structures, assess market dynamics.
  • Ability to develop procurement strategies that optimize supplier relationships, mitigate risks, and drive new innovative processes in new product introductions that align with organizational goals.
  • Experience working with engineers and manufacturing resources for prototype parts procurement, pilot activities and production launch of new products.
  • Expertise in negotiation techniques and tactics to secure favorable terms, pricing, and contractual agreements with suppliers, contributing to cost savings and performance improvements.
  • Proficient in data analysis and interpretation. Ability to analyze supplier performance metrics, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to optimize procurement processes and supplier relationships.
  • Strong leadership qualities, including effective communication, team management, decision-making skills, ability to collaborate with internal/external stakeholders, and drive alignment towards NPI project objectives.
  • Embrace new technologies, methodologies, and practices in procurement to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and drive continuous improvement within the organization.
  • Ability to navigate international supply chains, understand cultural nuances, and establish strategic partnerships with suppliers worldwide.
  • Very good knowledge of English to read and understand, on a daily basis, documentation and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Select suppliers for new components, understanding technical requirements, identifying suitable suppliers, and initiating the procurement process.
  • Participate in the evaluation of potential suppliers based on factors such as quality, cost, reliability, and capability to meet program requirements.
  • Drive negotiations to closure, ensuring that all parties are satisfied with the final agreements, including product pricing, non-recurring costs, development schedule, repair and overhaul agreements, tooling, and terms & conditions.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders such as project and core engineering, aftermarket support, operation program manager, and production supply chain professionals to ensure alignment across different departments and facilitate a smooth execution of new product introductions from concept to delivery.
  • Act as the New Product Introduction primary point of contact with suppliers and coordinate program requirements, including communicating project specifications, timelines, and expectations.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction through value engineering (Design to Cost) or alternative sourcing.
  • Work on optimizing manufacturing processes (Design for Manufacturing) to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Understand component design functionality, bill of materials, the manufacturing process of detailed parts, and required quality standards.
  • Drive suppliers to promise date upcoming development and production hardware deliveries.
  • Obtain line of balance and work in progress reports from suppliers and accurately share status to internal stakeholders.
  • Engage suppliers for delivery of zero non-conformance quality and produceable products for an eventual flawless transition to the Production Supply Chain professionals.
  • Ensure suppliers have secured proper capacity, operational processes, and infrastructure for on-time delivery through supplier health assessments.
