About The Position

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, or other relevant Engineering required
  • Minimum 0-3 years working in a catheter or medical component development and manufacturing environment, with a focus on product and process design
  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills
  • A working knowledge of minimally invasive medical device design, development, and manufacturing processes
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and Solidworks
  • Experience with Minitab
  • Experience with design controls, FDA regulation, GMP, GDP, and QMS requirements
  • Must be able to work with a microscope and sit and/or stand for an extended period of time
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of Six Sigma
  • Experience with lean manufacturing processes

Responsibilities

  • Support Innovative Product Design: Assist in the development and validation of new catheter or medical component designs that meet customer requirements.
  • Aid in Design for Manufacture: Help refine product designs to ensure smooth production flow and high yields. This includes aiding in the selection and design of equipment, tooling, and fixtures to improve catheter or medical component production and testing processes. Participate in Design of Experiments (DOE) and Gage R&R studies to optimize process settings.
  • Create Documentation: Generate detailed documentation, including work instructions, test methods, and visual guidelines, to standardize manufacturing processes.
  • Facilitate Collaborative Problem-Solving: Collaborate with a cross-functional team to uncover the root causes of product nonconformities and support the development and application of corrective and preventative measures, drawing on your skills to aid in troubleshooting and refining processes.
  • Provide Training: Offer training and guidance to technicians and product builders on manufacturing processes and the use of specialized tooling and fixtures, ensuring compliance with best practices and quality standards.
  • All other duties as required.
