About The Position

The NPD Design Engineer will serve as a responsible engineer across multiple new product development programs, owning technical execution from concept through qualification and production support. This role involves managing concurrent engineering programs in a fast-paced NPD environment, developing and executing engineering plans aligned to customer requirements and program timelines, and supporting customer meetings. The engineer will interpret customer specifications, develop compliance matrices, and perform design analysis including structural, reliability, and statistical evaluation. They will also present technical information, create and maintain engineering documentation, drawings, and technical data packages, and support prototype/pathfinder development with hands-on troubleshooting. Collaboration with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, test, quality, program management) is essential, as is supporting qualification testing, failure analysis, and production launch activities. The role also includes contributing to continuous improvement, cost reduction, and design for manufacturability, with a focus on designing with automation and scalability in mind.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of DOE, FMEA, and DFMA (required)
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software (required)
• Ability to interpret customer specifications and technical requirements
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including statistical analysis
• US citizenship is a requirement for this position due to U.S. Government contractual requirements.
• Must be authorized to access export-controlled information in accordance with U.S. law.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with FEA tools (ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation) strongly preferred
• GD&T knowledge preferred
• Aerospace, defense, or related industry experience preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Own and manage multiple concurrent engineering programs within a fast-paced NPD environment
• Develop and execute engineering plans aligned to customer requirements and program timelines
• Support customer meetings and interpret customer specifications and develop compliance matrices
• Perform design analysis including structural, reliability, and statistical evaluation as well as present technical information including PDR’s and CDR’s
• Create and maintain engineering documentation, drawings, and technical data packages
• Support prototype/pathfinder development with hands-on troubleshooting
• Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, test, quality, and program management teams
• Support qualification testing, failure analysis, and production launch activities
• Contribute to continuous improvement, cost reduction, and design for manufacturability
• Design with automation and scalability in mind
