About The Position

Provides expert comprehensive advanced patient care to pain management patients primarily in the outpatient setting but may include in-patients when deemed appropriate. Autonomously performs pain management assessments of all patients. Functions as part of a multi-disciplinary pain management team, collaborating with Anesthesiologists, NPs/PAs, RNs, Physical Therapists, psychophysiologist and other pain management personnel in safely assessing and treating the patient.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience or related specialized area strongly preferred.
  • Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies strongly preferred
  • Minimum of two years Pediatric primary/specialty or acute care setting experience OR 2 years' experience in related allied health field (i.e. family practice setting with heavy component of pediatric patients) strongly preferred.
  • Current Texas professional registered nurse license
  • Current Texas professional advance practice registered nurse license
  • Recognition from the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners as an Advanced Practice Nurse
  • Certification as Pediatric or Family Practice Nurse Practitioner
  • Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required
  • Current Texas professional physician assistant license
  • Recognition from the Texas State Medical Board as a Physician Assistant.
  • Certification as a Physician Assistant PA-C required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
