The Aero Thermal Fluids (ATF) organization is responsible for functional aerodynamic design, analysis, and performance of components and modules across Pratt & Whitney’s commercial and military engine product lines. The Exhaust Systems Aero group focuses on aerodynamic design and analysis of high-performance military exhaust systems, including bypass duct and nozzle aerodynamics, augmentor combustion, and exhaust system cooling design. The selected engineer will support the Nozzle Aero discipline, applying advanced technical skills and high-fidelity computational fluid dynamics modeling to complex aerodynamic systems and flows. The role involves planning and executing aerothermal work across concept studies, product design, testing, technology development, and root-cause investigations; developing models and performing analyses; influencing component and module design; and delivering analysis results and contract deliverables. The engineer will work with cross-disciplinary teams and internal and external customers, and support rig or engine testing and model validation. This is a full-time, onsite position at Pratt & Whitney’s East Hartford campus. Travel may be up to 10%. U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance are required; an active Secret clearance is required after day one.
