North America Operations Director

Commercial Vehicle Group, Inc.

About The Position

The North America Operations Director is responsible for leading and optimizing performance across our U.S. Trim Systems manufacturing and logistics sites. This role drives operational excellence by improving safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people/talent performance while implementing standardized processes and best practices across sites. As a key leader in a newly restructured organization, the North America Director partners closely with executive leadership to translate strategic priorities into actionable plant-level execution. This position requires a hands-on, execution-focused leader who can balance strategic direction with plant-level realities. The North America Operations Director will standardize processes, improve performance variability across sites, and elevate plant leadership effectiveness through coaching, accountability, and succession development. This is not a purely oversight role—it requires active engagement in plant operations, strong financial acumen, and the ability to lead through change in a dynamic environment.

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing or industrial operations
  • Experience leading multiple manufacturing sites or large, complex operations
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% depending on business needed. Travel is mostly independently determined but there will be times where specific business needs will dictate when travel is needed

  • Build and strengthen plant leadership capability by coaching, mentoring, and holding Plant Managers accountable for results and leadership effectiveness.
  • Translate operational performance into financial outcomes, identifying cost savings opportunities, improving margin performance, and optimizing resource allocation.
  • Partner with Finance to ensure alignment between operational actions and P&L impact, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control initiatives. Be able to quickly read and understand a P&L and drive actions based on financial variables.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives that drive measurable gains in efficiency, throughput, and cost reduction.
  • Ensure consistent application of safety and quality standards, reinforcing a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Provide clear, data-driven insights to senior leadership on regional performance, risks, and improvement opportunities.
