Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • Previous experience with teaching/coaching/mentoring in any athletic discipline.
  • Able to demonstrate classic and skate techniques.
  • Familiar with Nordic ski waxing fundamentals.
  • Able to pass background check to company standards

Nice To Haves

  • Current PSIA-AASI certification(s) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach cross-country skiing techniques (classic and skate) to guests of all ages and ability levels in both group and private lesson formats.
  • Provide a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment tailored to each guest’s needs and goals.
  • Demonstrate proper skiing techniques, warm-ups, and drills to help guests build skills and confidence.
  • Educate guests on Nordic skiing etiquette, trail use, and safe practices on the terrain.
  • Assist guests with equipment selection, fitting, and proper use of skis, poles, and boots.
  • Adapt teaching methods to various learning styles, weather conditions, and snow conditions.
  • Encourage guest participation in Nordic programs, events, and continued skill development.
  • Monitor and evaluate guest progress, providing clear, constructive feedback.
  • Uphold and model all company safety standards and resort policies at all times.
  • Maintain professionalism, a positive attitude, and excellent guest service throughout all interactions.
  • Assist with trail checks, safety sweeps, and reporting of hazards or maintenance needs as required.
  • Support the Nordic center by helping with opening/closing duties, guest check-in, and light trail preparation when needed.
  • Adheres to all company safety policies and procedures, actively contributing to a safe working environment for self, coworkers, and guests.
  • All employees are expected to support Eldora’s corporate responsibility commitment to protect the environment by participating in our Sustainable Transportation Program. This includes choosing alternative transportation, carpooling, using the employee shuttle, and avoiding onsite parking on weekends and peak days.
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays as required by resort operations.
