About The Position

Supervise students in the playground areas, cafeterias, rest rooms and other areas of a school. This role involves monitoring student behavior, assisting with minor conflicts, and ensuring compliance with school procedures. The position is for 1.75 hours per day over 193 days.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• Some experience working with children.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to maintain the trust and confidence of students.
• Ability to understand the needs of multi-cultural students.
• Ability to perform essential functions of the position with or without accommodation.
• Ability to work independently and make minor decisions within school procedures and policies.
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
• Ability to effectively supervise students.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students in the playground, cafeteria, restrooms, hallways, and other areas where students gather or as directed by the administrator.
• Monitor student behavior and hall passes in assigned areas to ensure compliance with school procedures.
• Assist students to resolve minor conflicts on the playground.
• Report unauthorized activities and unauthorized persons on school grounds to the appropriate authority.
• Assemble students promptly for class when the bell rings and collect any equipment left on the playground.
• Assist students in the cafeteria.
• Administer simple first aid such as band-aids and ice packs.
• Report serious infractions of school procedures and safety issues to administration promptly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
