About The Position

The San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) is seeking a Noon Monitor/Playground Aide to enable students, through playground leadership, to enjoy group interaction and physical exercise, which are an integral part of the district educational program. SFUSD is the seventh largest school district in California, serving over 50,000 students across 130 schools. Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older.
Prior experience working with children/students under the supervision of classroom teachers, site managers or school principal.

Responsibilities

Transport students from one destination to the next safely on school grounds.
Supervise students at playtime and maintain a harmonious atmosphere on the playground.
Organize group games and activities.
Supervise lunch recesses in the cafeteria and in the school yard.
Assist students in wellness rooms.
Assist in restorative conversations and in response to students in crisis.
Walk around the yards as much as possible and take precautionary steps to help children resolve conflicts using intervention strategies, such as benching.
Send students to the office for medical attention or in serious discipline situations.
Perform other job duties as requested by site administration.
