About The Position

Under the general supervision of the school principal, the Noon Duty Aide supervises children during the noon lunch period at Ridgeview Elementary School. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:20 p.m. Duties take place in the cafeteria, on the playground, and, when applicable, in classrooms during rainy-day lunch periods.

Requirements

• Good physical health.
• Good rapport with children in a playground setting.
• Ability to learn, remember, and enforce school playground rules.
• Ability to provide clear instructions to children.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and assist children during lunch in the cafeteria or on the playground.
• Prevent rough and dangerous play and keep children in designated play areas.
• Report special behavior problems to the principal.
• Enforce safety rules and encourage courtesy.
• Ensure children obtain first aid when needed and sign accident reports if required.
• Maintain order in classrooms during rainy-day lunch duty, if applicable.
• Read, understand, and carry out oral and written directions.
