The position is based in-office in West Hartford, CT, Shelton, CT, Livingston, NJ, or Woodcliff Lake, NJ.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
- Two or more years of public accounting experience with emphasis in financial statement preparation, audits, reviews, and compilations.
- Ability to travel to client sites which may also require infrequent overnight travel.
Nice To Haves
- Current CPA or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam.
- Prior experience with an established public accounting or professional services firm.
Responsibilities
- Executing and managing the day-to-day activities of audit engagements with nonprofit clients from start to finish, including budget management, planning, fieldwork, directing staff, and completing financial statements with disclosures.
- Reviewing client accounting and operating procedures.
- Developing and assessing the design and implementation of internal controls.
- Preparing all necessary financial statement and related disclosures and reportable condition correspondence letters.
- Utilizing proactive and effective communication with staff, management, and clients to communicate technical matters.
