About The Position

i3 is looking for a Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Technician to join our team! The ideal candidate will have previous experience in rotary and/or fixed wing aircraft nondestructive inspection. This position is located in Huntsville, Alabama. A successful candidate will conduct part-time / Temporary-On-Call (TOC) NDT duties.

Requirements

Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience.
Level 2 Certification in Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Penetrant Testing (PT), Eddy Current Testing (ET), and Ultrasonic Testing (UT) or military equivalent.
NDT Level II individual qualified to set up and calibrate equipment and to interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable codes, standards and specifications.
Thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the methods for which they are qualified and should exercise assigned responsibility for on-the-job training and guidance of trainees and NDT Level I/II personnel.
Ability to organize and report the results of NDT tests.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
U. S. Citizenship is required.
Knowledge of office administration and procedures.

Candidates with two or more of the desired NDT method certifications will be considered.

Responsibilities

Detect flaws such as cracks, delamination, voids, processing defects, and heat damage using Fluorescent Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Eddy Current, Ultrasonic, Radiographic (CR), and Optical test equipment.
Conduct inspections of various aviation-related parts primarily using Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) and Penetrant Testing (PT) techniques.
As part of a larger U.S. Government team, serve as the NDT representative during a variety of NDT audits.
This position will require 20% travel CONUS and OCONUS.
Other duties as assigned.
