About The Position

The Noncertified Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist I (CVIS I) reports to the operations Coordinator (Outpatient Clinic Manager) and the Nurse Manager of the Heart and Vascular Service Line. Under limited supervision, the CVIS I assist physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral vascular disease in an invasive procedure arena specializing in the care of patients undergoing basic diagnostic catheterization and interventional procedures.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • 0-2 years of modality specific experience required.
  • Current registration from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).
  • ARRT registration in interventional radiology required within 1 year in position.
  • Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent).
  • Continuous standing, sitting, and walking.
  • Continuous working indoors.
  • Frequent working from elevated areas.
  • Frequent working in confined/cramped spaces.
  • Continuous bending at the waist.
  • Frequent twisting at the waist.
  • Frequent squatting.
  • Frequent pinching operations.
  • Continuous gross motor use (fingers/hands).
  • Continuous firm grasping (fingers/hands).
  • Continuous fine manipulation (fingers/hands).
  • Frequent reaching overhead.
  • Continuous reaching in all directions.
  • Continuous repetitive motion (hands/wrists/elbows/shoulders).
  • Continuous full use of both legs.
  • Frequent balance & coordination (lower extremities).
  • Infrequent lift/carry 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Infrequent lift/lower 50 lbs. from floor to 36”.
  • Infrequent lift up to 25 lbs. overhead.
  • Frequent exertion of up to 50 lbs. of force.
  • Continuous maintain corrected vision 20/40 (one or both eyes).
  • Continuous recognize objects (near/far).
  • Continuous color discrimination.
  • Continuous depth perception.
  • Continuous peripheral vision.
  • Continuous hearing acuity (with correction).
  • Continuous tactile sensory function.
  • Continuous gross motor with fine motor coordination.
  • Continuous olfactory (smell) function.
  • Continuous respirator use qualification.
  • Continuous effective stress management.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.

Responsibilities
