About The Position

NeoGenomics is looking for a Non-Technical Laboratory Supervisor for our Molecular department in Aliso Viejo, CA. This role involves participating in a dynamic, multi-tasking environment with a focus on career development and employee empowerment. The Supervisor will work closely with the Department Manager, modality Director, and Site Director, and is accountable for the accuracy and reliability of services provided by their team. Responsibilities include day-to-day supervision, task assignment, personnel coaching, process monitoring, and ensuring quality and efficiency metrics are met. The role also supports the implementation of procedures and operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience in a laboratory setting.
  • Three (3) years of supervisory experience in Healthcare, scientific or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures acceptable performance of all procedures under the supervision of, and in the absence of, the Manager of Operations or Director of Operations.
  • Provides direct supervision of the operation and personnel performing tasks and reporting of information and results.
  • Supports high quality results and on-time results to meet client expectations.
  • Presents data and/or information across a range of levels including the team and department, and proficiently answers questions from all groups of staff, managers, and clients.
  • Supports the development and maintains detailed procedures to meet department requirements; ensures departmental SOP’s accurately reflects the current process; updates SOP’s as needed.
  • Initiates and monitors QC programs for the department; assures compliance with regulations; monitors all quality metrics and ensures that corrective actions are documented and implemented.
  • Supports the selection, retention, and training of qualified personnel; ensures that staff are trained and compliant with SOP’s and Skills checklists.
  • Coaches team members to support skills development.
  • Ensures all personnel meet the applicable regulatory requirements and have adequate knowledge of the processes and systems for which they are responsible.
  • Actively supports and complies with all company, departmental, and safety policies and procedures.
  • Approves time and attendance records, maintains training files and performs other administrative duties as required.
  • Monitors all department documentation to ensure quality assurance.
