About The Position

Bath Health’s Sleep Disorders Center, accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, provides polysomnographic tests, or sleep study evaluations, performed by Registered Sleep Technicians. Sleep studies are monitored by Registered Sleep Technicians and then reviewed and interpreted by a board-certified sleep physician. A caregiver in this position works nights shifts from Sunday through Friday, 6:30pm to 7:00am on 3 12-hr days. No holiday requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross
  • One year polysomnographic testing and scoring experience on the job or through clinical.
  • One year of EEG, Respiratory Therapy or Healthcare related experience may substitute

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of an A Step Program Technologist (RPSGT) credential within 18 months of employment

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients and equipment for ordered testing.
  • Interview patients to determine sleep disorder issues and explain testing procedures.
  • Perform and document testing.
  • Monitor patients throughout testing and intervene as necessary to resolve patient needs or equipment issues under minimal supervision.
  • Score, interpret and report results of sleep studies.
  • Prepare, calibrate, repair and maintain equipment required for testing.
  • Determine and report needed repairs/replacements.
