Bath’s Sleep Disorders Center, accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, provides polysomnographic tests, or sleep study evaluations, performed by Registered Sleep Technicians. Sleep studies are monitored by Registered Sleep Technicians and then reviewed and interpreted by a board-certified sleep physician. A caregiver in this position works nights, Sunday through Friday from 6:30pm to 7:00pm on 3 12-hr days. No holidays are required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma of GED.
  • Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross
  • Experience as a Polysomnographic Technician Trainee, one year of polysomnographic testing and scoring experience or one year of EEG, respiratory therapy or healthcare related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients and equipment for ordered testing.
  • Interview patients to determine sleep disorder issues and explain testing procedures.
  • Perform and document testing.
  • Monitor patients throughout testing and intervene as necessary to resolve patient needs or equipment issues under minimal supervision.
  • Score, interpret and report results of sleep studies.
  • Prepare, calibrate, repair and maintain equipment required for testing.
  • Determine and report needed repairs/replacements.
