About The Position

The Non-QM Underwriter will be responsible for underwriting NQM loans, managing a pipeline of loans, reviewing mortgage documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring investor requirements are met, requesting missing documentation, performing compliance reviews, and providing excellent customer service. The role requires maintaining excellent credit quality and daily production standards.

Requirements

• 2-5 years of Non QM mortgage underwriting experience required
• Proficiency with automated underwriting systems such as DU and LPA
• Self-starter with strong work ethics and professionalism
• Team-player and able to work autonomously to meet critical deadlines

Nice To Haves

• Encompass knowledge preferred
• BA or BS highly desired

Responsibilities

• Underwrite NQM Underwriting
• Proactively manage a pipeline of loans with a sense of ownership, including daily condition reviews
• Review all mortgage related documentation for accuracy and completeness and meet TLS guidelines
• Review to ensure investor requirements are met
• Request missing documentation necessary to complete the underwriting decision prescriptively and concisely
• Accurately perform compliance reviews and escalations as necessary
• Provide excellent customer service through friendly, professional and responsive communication with both internal and external customers
• Maintain excellent credit quality and daily production standards
