About The Position

McIntosh Trail Community Service Board offers individuals experiencing symptoms associated with mental illness, addictive disease, and/or developmental disability the hope for optimal functioning and recovery by providing quality behavioral health services and supports. The SST-1 is responsible for providing therapeutic care and treatment to individuals with mental health and/or substance abuse issues. The Clinician will assess patients' needs, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide counseling, case management, and crisis intervention services. The Clinician will work with other staff and medical professionals to ensure patients receive the best possible care. The Clinician must maintain accurate patient records and comply with all relevant laws and regulations. The ability to work with a variety of people and demonstrate empathy, patience, and understanding is essential.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND eligibility to be licensed
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of experience in social service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Under direct supervision of clinical supervisor, provide counseling / therapy services to individuals in an outpatient setting.
  • Provides social services and assistance to improve the physical, social and psychological functioning of clients and their families.
  • Identifies psychosocial status, economic and physical needs of patients, assesses and reassesses patient's support systems, available community resources and other factors to plan, develop and implement an appropriate plan of care.
  • Provides psychosis assessments, intervention, and care plan to patients of the clinic and assist them and their families in coping with their illness, diagnosis, and/or life situations and meet the continuing health care needs.
  • Identifies emotional or behavioral issues and diagnosis disorders using information obtained from screening tools, interviews, records and reference materials.
  • Counsels' individuals and groups (if applicable) to modify behavior to improve personal, social and vocational adjustments.
  • Complete treatment plans and CSC billing note on each individual register for services on the same day at admission.
  • Utilizing the Avatar system, maintain accurate records and statistics in accordance with department policies.
  • Participate in monthly meetings with lead clinician for supervision.
  • Other duties as Assigned by Supervisor.
