About The Position

Syngenta is hiring a Non-Income Tax Analyst in Wilmington, Delaware, to support indirect tax compliance across multiple entities and jurisdictions. The role manages sales and use tax filings, property tax reporting, audit support, and collaboration with internal teams to resolve tax-related issues. The analyst is also expected to identify efficiencies and improve tax compliance processes. The work arrangement is hybrid, with up to three days per week in the office potentially required based on business needs.

The position requires strong technical tax knowledge, analytical thinking, and the ability to manage priorities independently in a collaborative environment. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of in-house tax compliance experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of public accounting or consulting experience focused on indirect tax compliance.
• Strong knowledge of indirect and property tax laws, accounting principles, and account reconciliation practices.
• Demonstrated experience preparing multistate sales and use tax returns and property tax filings.
• Experience supporting tax audits, researching compliance issues, and coordinating responses to auditor requests.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, and tax compliance platforms such as ONESOURCE and Vertex.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file accurate, timely multistate sales and use tax returns for multiple entities and jurisdictions.
• Prepare property tax renditions, process related payments, and maintain supporting documentation in accordance with jurisdictional requirements.
• Manage monthly sales and use tax accruals, prepare and post journal entries, and reconcile tax accounts for accurate financial reporting.
• Maintain tax compliance calendars, monitor filing and payment deadlines, and coordinate activities to meet regulatory requirements.
• Support sales and use tax audits by gathering documentation, researching issues, and responding to auditor inquiries.
• Manage exemption certificates and ensure records remain accurate, complete, and compliant with applicable requirements.
• Partner with internal business units and tax team members to research and resolve tax-related matters and provide practical solutions.
• Identify opportunities to streamline, automate, and improve tax compliance processes while maintaining accurate supporting records.
