About The Position

American Iron & Metal (AIM) is seeking a motivated Non-Ferrous Receiver with experience for their Hamilton location. This role involves general maintenance of the premises and receiving materials from customers, operating machinery, inspecting and handling vehicles, performing depollution, and maintaining equipment and work areas while adhering to safety protocols. AIM is a global leader in metal recycling, offering a dynamic and rewarding work environment.

Requirements

• Comfortable working in a loud, dusty, heavy industrial environment
• Comfortable performing repetitive lifting up to 50lbs
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
• Willingness to learn and perform various tasks
• Clear communication skills and comfortable working with members of the public
• Previous experience in a industrial, warehouse, or recycling environment

Responsibilities

• Sorting and segregating different types of ferrous and non ferrous materials
• Operating machinery and equipment used in the recycling process
• Inspecting, loading, and unloading of customer vehicles and trucks
• Performing depollution of vehicles including removing oils, gas, coolant, etc
• Conducting basic maintenance and cleaning of equipment and work areas
• Following safety protocols and ensuring a safe working environment
