About The Position

SANE Australia is seeking applications for Non-Executive Director positions on both the SANE Australia Board and the mirror board of The Dax Centre. This is an exciting opportunity to join the governance of an organisation at the forefront of digital mental health innovation and advocacy in Australia. SANE supports people experiencing complex mental health issues and trauma, and their families, friends, and carers, through online support services, advocacy, community, and connection. The Dax Centre works to reduce stigma and deepen public understanding of mental health through art and education. The organisation's vision is a brighter future for people, families, and communities facing complex mental health issues, with goals to end mental health inequity, eliminate stigma and discrimination, and ensure equal employment and economic opportunity for people and families with complex mental health needs.

Requirements

• Board, committee or advisory experience.
• Strong governance capability and understanding of directors’ responsibilities.
• Strategic insight, sound judgement, and financial acumen.
• Risk oversight capability.
• Integrity, empathy, collaboration, and a commitment to purpose.
• A willingness to actively contribute to Board and committee work.

Responsibilities

• Attendance at regular Board meetings (approximately six per year).
• Active participation in at least one Board Committee.
• Diligence in preparing for meetings and active contribution to Board and committee discussions.
