About The Position

This role involves safely transporting passengers in vans, assisting with loading and unloading, and managing daily transport assignments. The driver must adhere to all Georgia driving laws, ensure passenger safety through proper securement, and maintain a flexible and positive attitude. Communication with dispatch, completion of required documents, and adherence to departmental operating procedures are essential. The position requires the capability to work long shifts, respond effectively to stressful situations, and participate in safety programs and training as required by Medicaid Brokers and the hospital. Professionalism, confidentiality, punctuality, and adherence to uniform policies are expected. The driver will also participate in call rotations, practice scripting with families, and cooperate with facility staff and visitors.

Requirements

  • No Driver License Suspensions within the last 5 years including non-payment of child support.
  • NO DUI Convictions in last 5 years.
  • No Felony.
  • No prior convictions of sexual crime or crime of violence.
  • Flexibility and positive attitude with change.
  • Capable of working long shifts.
  • Work as scheduled and is flexible.
  • Accepts Call rotation.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains vans to ensure they are capable of transporting passengers safely.
  • Transports passengers safely, assists them with loading and unloading.
  • Manages daily transport assignments and stays on task.
  • Follows all Ga. Driving laws.
  • Practices safe transport of all passengers by ensuring proper securement.
  • Communicates with Dispatch regarding transports issues.
  • Completes all required documents whether electronic or paper form.
  • Follows departmental operating procedures.
  • Anticipates and responds effectively to emergency and stressful situations.
  • Participates in NET and hospitals safety program.
  • Adheres to Medicaid Broker’s requirements for drivers.
  • Participates in Fit to work.
  • Maintains all education requirements per Medicaid Broker and Hospital.
  • Maintains professional approach with confidentiality.
  • Displays concerns and initiative.
  • Adheres to hospital policies regarding punctuality and absences.
  • Adheres to uniform policy.
  • Works as scheduled and is flexible.
  • Accepts Call rotation.
  • Practices scripting and communication with family and family members.
  • Performs any and all duties assigned by Director or NET Supervisor.
  • Cooperates and maintains good rapport with facilities, nursing staff, departments, and visitors.
