About The Position

TTL is seeking an NDT Inspector to join our team in Nashville, TN. In this role, you will perform visual inspections of structural welds, structural steel, and coating inspections to ensure compliance with applicable standards, specifications, and industry codes. You will also conduct nondestructive testing using Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), and Penetrant testing (PT) methods. Responsibilities include preparing daily reports, maintaining accurate documentation, and fostering cordial relationships with clients and contractors. This position operates with moderate supervision while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient in reading of drawings, plans, and/or blueprints
  • Ability to communicate professionally orally and in writing
  • Basic computer skills and related technology
  • Must possess valid driver’s license and have good driving record.
  • Perform heavy lifting up to 50+ lbs
  • Ability to operate aerial lifts and work at heights.
  • Possess sufficient stamina to work in outdoor (hot & cold) environment
  • Structural Steel experience required
  • ICC Structural Steel and Bolting Certification
  • Experience with observing Structural Steel bolting and welded connections
  • Understanding of Special Inspections, tracking what has been inspected, and tracking of items noted as discrepancies
  • Ability to explain and interpret code and/or quality control requirements

Nice To Haves

  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector would be a plus but not required.
  • Current AWS CWI Certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs visual inspections (VT) of structural welds to ensure that it conforms to applicable standards.
  • Performs nondestructive testing using Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) and Penetrant testing (PT) methods.
  • Conducts coating inspections and testing to ensure that it compliance with applicable specifications and industry standards.
  • Inspects structural steel and bolted connections with applicable codes.
  • Follows proper procedures, performs accurate computations and documentation, and maintains cordial relationships with coworkers, clients, and contractors.
  • Prepares daily inspection reports and communicates findings to clients in a timely and professional manner.
  • Operates with moderate supervision while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
