About The Position

STS Aerospace in Laconia, NH is searching for a Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) & FPI Operator to join the team. This position is responsible for the production and interpretation of radiographic images of tube assemblies or castings, for dimensional inspection, flaw detection, or presence of foreign material. The role operates on the 2nd Shift from 3:15 PM to 1:45 AM, Monday through Thursday, with a $1.00 differential. Trainees will initially work on the 1st Shift. Requirements

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Able to pass certification requirements to NAS-410 and Titeflex procedures.
  • Required to follow procedures in the techniques for which certified.
  • Must be able to train on 1st Shift.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately read and follow X-ray film or digital techniques to produce quality images.
  • Adjust controls of Liquid Penetrant machines/equipment on console to inspect and certify parts or assemblies.
  • Follow set radiation safety procedures for personnel and area monitoring.
  • Perform system checks as required.
  • Pass certification requirements to NAS-410 and Titeflex procedures.
  • Follow procedures in the techniques for which certified.
  • Stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Consistently, regularly and dependably be at work and on time.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.
