About The Position

The Non-Destructive Inspector (NDI) Evaluator and Tester will evaluate and recommend NDI parameters for the implementation of changes to existing and new processes. This role serves as an NDI level II inspector on repaired, overhauled, re-worked, manufactured, and investigative aircraft and aircraft-related components. The inspector will report all findings according to ALC policy and report to the IOD shop 136 for daily tasking. All briefs, reports, documents, recommendations, evaluations, and activities require approval from the Government NDI Program Manager before implementation. The selected candidate will select the appropriate Non-Destructive Testing method and inspect specified or questionable areas on assembled or disassembled aircraft frames, engines, and related components, including parts in various stages of fabrication or repair. Upon discovery of a discontinuity, the inspector will evaluate and interpret indications of cracking, damage, or corrosion to determine a suitable solution and initiate necessary documented reports for corrective action. Follow-up inspections of reworked areas will be performed to ensure the adequacy of corrective actions. Inspections will be performed per NDI technical directives such as TCTO’s, MPCs, AFTO’s, Military Standard Specifications, and ALC specifications and instructions. Coordination with Industrial Operations engineering and NDI personnel is required for instances of inadequate documentation of testing methods and techniques before commencing work. The NDI Level II Inspector will be assigned across all ALC divisions as required and will be responsible for the acceptance and rejection of aircraft parts. Work performed at ALC will be documented on the NDI work history form ALC ESD 20 and submitted to the ALC NDI Level III program manager for archiving. Other NDI services as required will also be performed. Proficiency in Microsoft software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and PC-based operations (email, PDFs) is necessary. Assistance with proposal development may be required.

Requirements

Physical eye examination annually IAW National Aerospace Standard (NAS)-410.
Two (2) years NDI experience as a Level II Inspector IAW NAS-410 or other recognized national NDI standard.
Experience at a minimum shall be at least two (2) years as a certified level II in the following NDI methods: Liquid Penetrant Testing (LPT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MPT).
Must provide proof of certification.
Provide NDI Level II work history documentation that demonstrate training, qualification, and certification along with actual prior job performance IAW NAS-410 or other national recognized standard.
Provide NDI training course documentations. Training course shall comply with (ANSI)-CP-105/106 Level I & II curriculum.
Must be able to pass USCG Level II examination for both methods within 90 days of the report date or forfeit employment.
Knowledgeable of aircraft structure, aircraft components, aircraft assemblies, and of aircraft metallic and non-metallic materials.
Knowledgeable in manufacturing processes of metallic components.
Must be able to effectively communicate with customer and fulfill all duties and responsibilities as listed in the contract.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite including, but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities
