About The Position

The NDI II inspects aerospace weapon systems components and support equipment for structural integrity using nondestructive inspection methods and performs fluid analysis. This role involves determining the required test/inspection method, performing nondestructive inspections on structures, components, and systems, and detecting flaws such as cracks, delamination’s, voids, processing defects, and heat damage using various test equipment. The technician will interpret test results, determine metallurgical information, operate and maintain inspection equipment, and provide training to others. Responsibilities also include assisting in aircraft maintenance, documenting work, handling hazardous materials, operating support equipment, using automated maintenance systems, performing Foreign Object Damage (FOD) walks, maintaining tool control, and complying with safety regulations. This position may also involve Designated System Inspector (DSI) duties and other related tasks as needed.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
Non-Destructive Testing NAS410 Level II certification or previous Air Force Specialty Code 2A752 required as a minimum.
8+ years of aircraft maintenance NDT experience with fixed wing commercial, Government or DOD aircraft required.
Experience supporting DoD contracts.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance.
Knowledge of metal characteristics / identification; wear metals identification and content; metal discontinuity and flaw detection.
Strong knowledge of all operation and maintenance of nondestructive test and oil analysis equipment; safety codes and practices; radiological safety and radiation monitoring procedures.
Ability to read and understand all pertinent technical orders and directives as well as the proper handling, use, and disposal of hazardous waste and materials.
Beginner to intermediate computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to enter data accurately into databases.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as engineering drawings, technical documentation, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Interpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff.
Will also routinely interact with other crew members.
Must possess effective oral and technical written communication skills to clearly communicate information to others.
Ability to use general office equipment such as fax, phone, copier, scanner, printers, etc.
Ability to follow a process.
Strong professional customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service and follow-up.
Strong decision analysis and problem-solving skills; ability to draw conclusions and justify decisions.
Must be able to communicate issues to management.
Ability to learn and understand corporate policies and procedures and how they relate to Yulista goals.

Nice To Haves

Previous Air Force Specialty Code 2A772 highly desirable.
Ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs.
Working knowledge of advanced software applications is preferred.
C-130 experience a plus

Responsibilities

Determine required test / inspection method, or nondestructive inspection.
Performs nondestructive inspection on structures, components, and systems.
Detects flaws such as cracks, delamination’s, voids, processing defects, and heat damage using penetrant, eddy current, magnetic particle, radiographic, optical, and ultrasonic test equipment.
Interprets nondestructive inspection test results and provides information to leadership.
Determines metallurgical information of components according to alloy, temper, conductivity, and associated factors.
Operates, maintains, and inspects nondestructive equipment.
Performs operator maintenance and service inspections on shop equipment and tools.
Provide oversight and may direct and train others in the completion of aircraft related maintenance tasks.
Assist in the repair, inspection and maintenance of structural, mechanical and electrical elements of the aircraft.
Document maintenance as per Quality Assurance (QA) and established regulatory requirements.
Stores, handles, and disposes of hazardous waste and materials according to environmental standards and company processes.
Operates and maintains related aircraft Support Equipment (SE).
Use automated maintenance systems to monitor maintenance trends, analyze equipment requirements, maintain equipment records, document maintenance actions, and time change database.
Perform regular Foreign Object Damage (FOD) walks.
Maintain strict tool control procedures.
Report missing, lost, found, or unattended tools to the supervisor.
Inventory and inspect tools on a regular basis and replace worn or broken tools.
Comply with safety rules and regulations while performing day to day maintenance.
Promptly report all accidents, injuries, safety violations, and/or unsafe practices or procedures to supervisor.
Maintain equipment records.
Enter in the maintenance records description of the work performed and verify the work was performed satisfactorily.
May include Designated System Inspector (DSI) duties.
Perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
