The NDI II inspects aerospace weapon systems components and support equipment for structural integrity using nondestructive inspection methods and performs fluid analysis. This role involves determining the required test/inspection method, performing nondestructive inspections on structures, components, and systems, and detecting flaws such as cracks, delamination’s, voids, processing defects, and heat damage using various test equipment. The technician will interpret test results, determine metallurgical information, operate and maintain inspection equipment, and provide training to others. Responsibilities also include assisting in aircraft maintenance, documenting work, handling hazardous materials, operating support equipment, using automated maintenance systems, performing Foreign Object Damage (FOD) walks, maintaining tool control, and complying with safety regulations. This position may also involve Designated System Inspector (DSI) duties and other related tasks as needed.
