The Non-Destructive Inspection Technician (NDI) III inspects aerospace weapon systems components and support equipment for structural integrity using nondestructive inspection methods and performs fluid analysis. This role involves processing parts, standardizing equipment, and detecting flaws using various NDI techniques. The technician will also determine metallurgical information, set up and standardize equipment, conduct tests, interpret results, and document findings. Responsibilities include operator maintenance, silver recovery, following and developing written instructions, and interpreting codes and standards. This position also involves establishing and monitoring radiation areas, ensuring safety procedures, and handling hazardous waste. The NDI III technician will provide guidance and supervision to lower-level personnel, approve NDT procedures, and assume technical responsibility for the NDI staff.
