Responsible for inspecting aerospace weapon systems components and support equipment for structural integrity using nondestructive inspection methods and performs fluid analysis. This role requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, establish and maintain lab standards, and accurately estimate completion times. The technician will be skilled in setting up and standardizing equipment, processing parts, interpreting results for acceptance or rejection, and documenting findings. Familiarity with the scope and limitations of inspection techniques, conducting system performance checks, and providing guidance to trainees and Level 1 personnel is essential. The role also involves understanding relevant codes and standards, potentially developing work instructions from approved procedures (requiring Level 3 approval), and possessing basic knowledge of product manufacturing, inspection technology, and aircraft/vehicle maintenance.
