About The Position

Responsible for inspecting aerospace weapon systems components and support equipment for structural integrity using nondestructive inspection methods and performs fluid analysis. This role requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, establish and maintain lab standards, and accurately estimate completion times. The technician will be skilled in setting up and standardizing equipment, processing parts, interpreting results for acceptance or rejection, and documenting findings. Familiarity with the scope and limitations of inspection techniques, conducting system performance checks, and providing guidance to trainees and Level 1 personnel is essential. The role also involves understanding relevant codes and standards, potentially developing work instructions from approved procedures (requiring Level 3 approval), and possessing basic knowledge of product manufacturing, inspection technology, and aircraft/vehicle maintenance.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 300 hours of prior experience with documented NDI Work Logs with signatures for verification.
  • Ability to work alone with little to no direction.
  • Ability to build the lab IAW standards to include part predictability and accurate ETOC's.
  • Skills and knowledge to set up and standardize equipment, process parts, interpret and evaluate for acceptance or rejection, and document results.
  • Thorough familiarity with the scope and limitations of the technique/method.
  • Skills and knowledge to conduct system performance checks in accordance with the applicable process standard.
  • Capability of providing the necessary guidance and/or supervision to trainees and Level 1 personnel.
  • Familiarity with the codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control the method as used by the employer.
  • Basic knowledge of relevant product manufacturing and inspection technology.
  • Basic knowledge of aircraft or vehicle maintenance when specified in the written practice.
  • Ability to provide appropriate proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Satisfactory references and background check.
  • Successful passing of a pre-employment drug test.
  • Ability to get a required clearance by the effective start date, if needed.

  • Level II NDI Certification at certified technical schools (in-house training).
