About The Position

Operate and support field service operators related to Non-Destructive Assay work, CAAS support, and other services supported by PSC at customer sites. This includes performing surveys, recording data, operating and maintaining equipment. The work may be indoors or outdoors. Additionally, while not supporting field work, general facilities support at PSC in Santa Fe. This will include material handling, material receiving, light assembly, electrical panel work, and other facility support.

Requirements

  • Safety conscious attitude.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures verbatim.
  • Able to do radiological work that may require use of a respirator.
  • Team mentality and ability to work well with multiple different groups.
  • Maintain all training requirements.
  • Ability to train new personnel, track training, and ensure training is scheduled.
  • Ability to use a GC/MS (Agilent preferred).
  • High school Diploma or GED.
  • Host site and TA-54 training, RAD worker, and Hazwoper.
  • OSHA General Certification and Respirator Certified.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate technical, math, science, or physics.
  • Minimum of five years in a related field or equivalent combination of education and ten year’s experience in the NDA field providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance.
  • Experience with the DOE.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to sites to operate NDA equipment.
  • Provide SME/OJT expertise as qualified.
  • Conduct sampling (includes SUMMA sampling) and filter change-out on waste containers.
  • Perform analysis of waste containers in an accurate, complete, and timely manner.
  • Keep training up to date.
  • Support maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of instruments, including calibrations.
  • Ensure that all Services work is carried out in line with recognized national and international standards.
  • Prepare and review status reports and other technical documentation to support survey.
  • Coordinate with physicists to evaluate survey data.
  • Deal professionally with client and client support staff.
  • Material handling, material receiving, light assembly, electrical panel work, and other facility support.
