Position Summary The Non-Clinical Summer Intern will support administrative, operational, and support service functions within a healthcare organization. This internship provides students with hands-on experience across non-clinical departments, including office-based roles as well as essential support services such as Groundskeeping, Culinary Services, and Environmental Services. Interns will gain exposure to healthcare operations while developing professional, teamwork, and workplace skills in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in high school (senior year), college, or university program with an interest in healthcare or clinical careers
  • Ability to work a summer schedule (dates and hours determined by department)
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to perform a variety of tasks in office, operational, or support service settings
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office or similar systems)
  • Ability to comply with safety, infection-control, and confidentiality standards
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, and perform light lifting as required in a clinical setting
  • LMH is accredited by DNV and TJC, and as such, may require specific annual education related to specialty certifications and standards

Responsibilities

  • Support administrative and operational functions through clerical, organizational, and project-based tasks
  • Assist support service departments, including:
  • Groundskeeping: maintaining outdoor areas, basic landscaping, and facility appearance
  • Culinary Services: assisting with food preparation, service support, and sanitation tasks
  • Environmental Services: supporting cleaning, sanitation, and infection-control efforts
  • Follow department-specific training, safety guidelines, and procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and organizational policies
  • Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and a positive attitude
  • Work collaboratively with department staff and leadership
  • Participate in training sessions and learning opportunities
  • Perform additional duties as assigned based on departmental needs
