About The Position

Performs basic nursing skills, and/or serves under the direction and supervision of the practice physician and/or registered nursing staff. This role involves greeting and escorting patients, preparing exam rooms, assisting with exams and procedures, educating patients, maintaining equipment, and assisting with administrative tasks. The position requires the ability to work closely with others, adapt to changing environments, and organize work effectively.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program OR one (1) year of experience in a clinical setting.
Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
Ability to use and care of all equipment including printers, embossers, and computers.
Ability to effectively communicate with staff and patients.
Ability to adapt to changing environments.
Ability to work in both an independent and team setting.
Ability to organize and prioritize work.

Nice To Haves

Completion of healthcare education course work.
One (1) year of healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

Greets and escorts patient to exam rooms; prepares for physician visit by obtaining initial information and vital signs.
Prepares exam rooms for patients with attention to cleanliness and availability of supplies.
Assists with and/or performs exams, tests, and procedures.
Schedules appointments and sets up referral contacts as needed.
Assists provider during patient examinations and procedures.
Educates patients on follow up expectations.
Maintains quality control testing logs as required.
Ensures all medical equipment is in proper working condition.
Assists patients with completion of medical documentation.
Assists with office administrative tasks to include but not limited to answering phones, taking messages, performing office related task (copying, printing, data entry, etc.) and assisting with depositing of cash and other closing duties.
