As a Non-Certified CS/SPD Technician, you play a key role in how our operating rooms care for patients. Collaborating with the Manager, Lead Tech, Charge Tech and other Techs, you will ensure the organization and proper maintenance of a high-volume Sterile Processing Unit. In this role, you will receive ample support, training and education, including knowledge of operating the latest, state-of-the-art processing equipment and sterilization tools and concepts. A caregiver in this position works Monday through Friday from 10:00am to 5:30pm and 1 Saturday every 6 weeks from 8:00am to 1:00pm. No holidays required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Sterile Processing certification (e.g., CRCST, CSPDT, CFER, or CER) is required within 18 months after hire, unless an extension is granted at the purview of leadership

Nice To Haves

  • One year of Healthcare experience or a similar background in Mechanical/Manufacturing Assembly
  • Military experience as a Hospital Corpsmen (HM), Machinery Repairman (MR), Aircraft Maintenance Technician (2A3X3), Biomedical Equipment Specialist (68A), Small Arms Repairer (91F) or similar considered

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, efficient practices for decontamination, instrument assembly, wrapping and sterilization of all reprocessed instruments and distribution equipment.
  • Provide case care management.
  • Properly handle equipment, instruments and chemicals.
  • Perform preventative maintenance.
  • Observe personal protective equipment standards in the decontamination process.
  • Scan, sort, inspect and assemble, wrap and label instruments by instrument list as documented in the procedure.
  • Perform record keeping.
