About The Position
Daniels Health is seeking an enthusiastic, customer-focused driver with a Non CDL and experience driving large trucks to join our team in El Cajon, CA. This role involves collecting sharps and medical waste containers from healthcare customer locations and delivering excellent customer service. The position offers a high degree of autonomy, stable hours, opportunities for overtime, and good benefits. Our vehicle fleet is modern and well-maintained, and we provide comprehensive PPE and serious training for safe medical waste handling.
Requirements
- Non CDL with a clean driving record and valid medical card required.
- Willingness to work full-time hours, approximately 40 hours a week.
- Six months of driving experience with tractor trailers and/or straight trucks.
- Passing a 7-Year FADV review in the Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse.
- A flexible, can-do attitude with a strong customer focus.
- Experience operating vehicles in a safe manner (straight trucks and tractor trailers as large as 26 and 53 feet long).
- Experience with DOT compliance, logging hours, and roadside inspections.
- Confidence in handling road checks level 1 through level 3.
- Proven longevity in past employment.
- On-time delivery practices.
Responsibilities
- Safely collecting, delivering, and storing medical waste containers at customer locations.
- Providing strong customer service and building positive customer relationships.
- Operating vehicles in a safe manner (straight trucks and tractor trailers as large as 26 and 53 feet long).
- Completing deliveries according to the time schedule and communicating any changes or challenges.
- Loading and unloading containers.
- Prioritizing and organizing the truck per schedule and needs.
- Managing a route per leadership's direction, delivering timely, efficient, and effective service.
- Complying with DOT regulations, logging hours, and preparing for roadside inspections.
- Performing heavy lifting.
- Performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle evaluations.
