About The Position

The Building Center, Inc. is seeking a Non-CDL Driver to join our Monroe, NC division. This role is responsible for delivering complete, accurate, and on-time deliveries to our customers, representing the company in a professional, safe, and cost-effective manner while complying with all applicable regulations. The ideal candidate will have superior customer service skills and a professional demeanor.

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares truck for operation by assisting in and overseeing the loading of truck and securing of items and by verifying the accuracy of shipping papers
• Inspects truck tires, lights, brakes, fluids, etc., to ensure safe and cost-effective performance, with preventive maintenance in mind
• Delivers orders via the most effective route to ensure complete orders are delivered according to established timeframes and customers’ needs
• Maintains communication with company during deliveries to ensure any updated instructions are received
• Documents delivery, accuracy, and receipt of orders by the customer according to company directives and reports any discrepancies to company
• Increases customer satisfaction by collecting information and feedback on service and resolving complaints per company policy; communicates information back to company
• Informs customers of new products and services that can increase customer satisfaction and sales
• Maintains and monitors truck maintenance and driving record requirements; maintains required documents for safety, security, and quality processes
• Updates job knowledge
• Safely operates forklifts and other warehouse equipment, as required
• Maintains a safe driving record free of violations
• Performs occasional warehouse and counter duties
• Maintains proficiency in computerized systems and other technologies, as required
• Follows company policies and procedures
• Performs other duties, as assigned
